Tell us more about your career with us

I am employed as a graduate structural engineer. My previous experience was as working within the rail and infrastructure team at Arcadis (previously Hyder Consulting) as a civil structures engineer. I made the move to Meinhardt to get more exposure to a larger range of structures than just those associated with rail.

What is the culture at Meinhardt UK?

The culture within Meinhardt is incredibly social, inclusive and supporting. Regularly social activities are organised which help foster a team spirit that in turn create a familiar and open atmosphere. This is fantastic when it comes to graduate development and learning as there are always people to ask for help on technical issues.

What inspired you to choose engineering as a career?

I initially chose engineering because I enjoyed maths, physics and I was good at fixing/figuring things out. I then became greatly interested in the built environment and the positive impact it can have on society.

Have you worked on any unusual or high profile projects?

I have previously been involved in Thameslink and Crossrail.

What are your future goals?

My future goal is to become charted with ICE, and ideally put my masters in seismic design to use and work on a project involving earthquakes or dynamics.
