Veitch Gingerbread Construction Ltd has delivered another efficient construction package over 3 challenging phases this year.

What started the Veitch Gingerbread Construction tradition?

It started 4 years ago when I tried making a simple 4 sided house. Since then I have tested my abilities adding increasingly difficult features each year.

How long did it take to create the masterpiece?

I think it takes about 12 hours contact time with extra for ‘curing.

What are the ingredients or is it a secret?

The gingerbread mixture is vital, too much butter and it sticks, too much flour and it won’t bind together.

This is the recipe I follow:

250g Unsalted Butter

200g Dark Muscavado Sugar

7tbsp Golden Syrup

600g Plain Flour

2tsp Bicarbonate of Soda

4tsp Ground Ginger

Bake at 200 degrees until the corners go dark.

What are the 3 challenging phases?

Day 1 – Designing the blueprints on paper, cutting the raw gingerbread to shape

Day 2 – Baking and assembling structure with secret recipe icing sugar glue

Day 3 – Decorating
