Job Description
We are seeking a Civil Infrastructure Engineer to join our growing Dublin team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated engineer to work on a diverse portfolio of civil and development infrastructure projects, supporting delivery from feasibility and planning through to detailed design and construction. The role will suit someone with strong technical capability, excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
What you’ll do
As a Civil Infrastructure Engineer, your responsibilities will typically include:
- Supporting the delivery of innovative and cost-effective civil infrastructure solutions for a variety of development projects.
- Designing stormwater and foul drainage networks for residential, commercial, industrial and mixed-use developments.
- Preparing drainage strategies and detailed drainage designs in line with Irish standards, local authority requirements and best practice.
- Using Causeway Flow drainage software to develop, model and assess drainage proposals.
- Contributing to the design of Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS), attenuation systems, flow control elements and associated infrastructure.
- Assisting in the preparation of Flood Risk Assessments, infrastructure reports and technical submissions for planning and design stages.
- Preparing and reviewing engineering drawings, layouts and technical details, including coordination with CAD technicians.
- Undertaking site visits and inspections, and contributing to construction-stage support where required.
- Coordinating with internal multi-disciplinary teams and external stakeholders including clients, architects, planners, local authorities and utility providers.
- Supporting project delivery in relation to programme, technical quality, design coordination and client communication.
- Assisting with project documentation, correspondence, reports and design submissions
What we’re looking for
The ideal candidate will have:
- A Master’s degree (MEng) in Civil Engineering is preferrable.
- Experience in a civil/infrastructure design role, ideally within a consultancy environment.
- Experience in some or all of the following areas:
- civil infrastructure design
- surface water and foul water drainage design
- SuDS design
- flood risk and drainage assessments
- roads and levels design for site development projects
- Working knowledge of DMURS
- Working knowledge of Uisce Eireann Design Standards
- Specific experience using Causeway Flow drainage software.
- Experience in the preparation of engineering reports, drawings and design submissions.
- A strong understanding of relevant design standards, approvals processes and infrastructure delivery requirements in Ireland.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects.
- A proactive, self-motivated and detail-oriented approach.
Desirable
- Experience working on projects across residential, commercial, retail, energy (wind and solar) or data centre sectors.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD / Civil 3D or similar design and drafting software.
- Knowledge of Irish planning, statutory approvals and utility coordination processes.
- Progress toward Chartered Engineer status or an interest in pursuing chartership.
- Site experience and confidence in attending project meetings and inspections.
